What makes this tour different?

New Orleans Hop-On Hop-Off tour is designed for Convenience and Value. Unlimited Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing for up to 3 days, plus 2 Free walking tours – all for $49.

Short on Time? That’s fine! Hop-On when you can, Learn all about New Orleans and get the views from the Top-Deck – See and Learn in the Garden District, French Quarter, Superdome, and River… all in your first loop – 1 Day Tickets for $39.

How does Hop-On Hop-Off work?

No reservations required. Many Double-Decker vehicles are following the same 1-hour 45-minute City Tour route and service each stop every 20 minutes.

HOP-ON at ANY stop to begin your tour, and along the way, HOP-OFF to explore the various sites at your own pace… HOP-ON again to continue your journey through New Orleans.

We encourage you to Hop-Off frequently – remember, the next bus is less than 30 minutes away.

How long is the tour?

The Narrated City Tour is 1-hour 45-minutes if you do not Hop-Off at any of the stops. The Tour makes multiple stops, so patrons can Hop-Off to explore, or visit New Orleans fine attractions, like Basin St. Station Visitor Center (Stop 5) for pristine visitor restrooms, coffee bar & refreshments, or additional hotel, restaurant, or attraction information.

How do the walking tours work?

3 Day Ticket Holders – Guided Tours of the French Quarter and the Garden District are included free with your ticket. Each tour is about 45 minutes long and is about a mile in length. Tours are first come first serve so we suggest arriving about 10 – 15 minutes before the tour begins to secure your spot. There is lots to see and do (and eat and drink) in the blocks around these stops, so not to worry if you must wait for the next tour to start.

  1. French Quarter Walking Tour (Escorted & Free with 3 Day Tickets) Departs daily at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm from Stop 1.
  2. Garden District Walking Tour (Escorted & Free with 3 Day Tickets) Leaves daily at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm from Stop 12 – at the corner of Magazine and Washington.
What days and hours do you operate?

Hop-On Hop-Off tour buses operate from 9:30am to 5:30pm, 7-Days a week.First Service at each stop will be between 9:30am and 10:00am. Board by 3:30pm for Full Loop tour.

Tour service closes at 5:30pm – We suggest you board around 4:00pm if planning to return to a particular stop.

Are there any days you do NOT operate?

Yes, on a few days each year, city-wide street closures impact our route and we are unable to operate.

Hop On Any Bus and Show your Confirmation to any City Sightseeing Agent to redeem for your tickets. 1 Day ticket valid for 24 hours from time of redemption, and 3 Day tickets, valid for 72 hours.

Basin St. Station (Stop 5)

Purchase your Tickets and Start your tour at Basin St. Station Visitor Center – our Ticket Desk is open from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Jackson Square Ticket Office, 700 Decatur St.

Ticket desk is open from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Hop-On ANY Bus at ANY Stop

Bus operators will request to see your ticket… Just ask about the next opportunity to purchase from a Sales Agent, located at many of the stops along the route.
Are Attractions Admissions Included?

Attractions admissions along the route are not included in the price of the CSS tickets, unless specified. Various attractions packages are available separately.

Am I guaranteed a seat if I have a ticket?

Seating is available on a first-come first-serve basis. We do increase our capacity on peak days to accommodate increased ridership, although seating cannot be guaranteed for any specific departure.

Is there Standing Room on any buses?

All passengers must remain seated when any City Sightseeing vehicle is in motion – standing and walking is prohibited.

Are Hop-On Hop-Off tours handicap accessible?

More than half of the our double-decker vehicles are handicapped accessible, with electronic ramps as well as 1 or more securement locations on the lower-deck. Look for the internationally recognized Wheelchair Accessible sticker on the front of the bus and near the entrance door. Guests are welcome to contact City Sightseeing New Orleans from the stop to inquire about accessibility on the next bus: 1-800-362-1811.

Which stops have convenient parking options?

The most convenient parking is available at Stop 5 – Basin St. Station Visitor’s Center located at 501 Basin St. $10 for all day parking. Rates are subject to change during special events.

From Slidell – I-10 West toward New Orleans

From Baton Rouge – I-10 East toward New Orleans

From the Westbank – US90 BUS E to I-10 East

  1. Take I-10 Exit 235A (Vieux Carre / Orleans Avenue)
  2. Merge onto Basin St. / Orleans Ave. toward Vieux Carre
  3. Follow Basin St. around the sharp right curve
  4. Basin St. Station Visitor Center is on the right
Do you pick up at my hotel?

We are unable to provide a hotel pick-up for our Hop-On Hop-Off tours but many of our stops are in close proximity to major hotels in the French Quarter, Faubourg Treme, Central Business District, and Garden District.

Can I bring my selfie stick?

For the your safety and that of other passengers, Selfie-Sticks are prohibited on the Top-Deck.

Are pets allowed on the Tour?

Sorry that pets (other than service animals) are not allowed on any CSS vehicles.

Can I eat and drink on the bus?

Sorry that food is not allowed on the bus. Non-Alcoholic beverages are allowed as long as they are in a container with a lid. No glass of any kind is allowed on the bus.

Is there storage space for baggage or personal items on the buses?

Sightseeing buses do not have space for storage of any personal items. Bring only items that can easily be stored under your seat.

Is there a Lost and Found?

Please take all items with you when you Hop-Off. CSS is not liable for damage to or loss of personal property (cameras, bags, purses, etc.) on the vehicles.

Items retrieved from vehicles will be retained in Lost and Found for 30 days. Contact us at 1-800-362-1811 to report any lost items.
